Overview
About Me
Hi, I'm Viraj Dias! I live in the breathtaking hill country of Haputale, Sri Lanka, surrounded by nature and my beloved dogs. My home is not just a place—it's an experience. With a big, warm family and countless relatives around, we welcome travelers with open arms, offering them a glimpse into our rich culture and way of life.
Tourism is our passion, and while we host plenty of guests, I also love connecting with people through Couchsurfing and Workaway. For me, it's not just about hospitality—it's about sharing stories, exchanging knowledge, and making lifelong friends. If you're looking for the perfect place to stay, explore, and feel at home, you’ve found it!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
One day, I dream of traveling the world, exploring new places, and experiencing different cultures firsthand. Until then, I love welcoming fellow travelers, offering them a place to stay or simply being a friendly soul to help along their journey.
For me, travel isn't just about visiting new places—it's about learning from people, sharing stories, and gaining a deeper understanding of the world through every connection I make.
This keeps it warm, personal, and inspiring. Let me know if you'd like any tweaks!
Interests
One of my biggest interests is traveling the world, meeting new people, and discovering different places. There's always something new to learn and experience!
- traveling the all world like you guys with my dogs
- meet the traveller's i've met in my life 20k + peo
Music, Movies, and Books
Nice taste in music! Kings of Convenience have such a chill vibe, and Eddie Vedder’s voice is legendary. The 60s and 70s were a golden era for music—do you have any favorite bands or songs from that time?
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
After 1.5 years of hard work, I finally completed my campsite, building it all on my own. Now, I’m living with my family and enjoying life with my two amazing dogs, Mollie and Bernie. And after all this effort, it's time for my first trip to Indonesia—an adventure I’ve been looking forward to for so long!
I recently spent a month in India, which gave me an incredible experience of traveling in a country like India.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach English, share the secrets of Sri Lankan cooking, and offer expert tips on tourism, adventure, and camping. Whether you're looking for travel advice or hands-on experiences, I’m happy to help!
But it's not just about teaching—I love learning too! I'm always excited to pick up new languages, discover different cuisines, and connect with people from all walks of life. Every traveler brings a new story, and I’m eager to hear yours.
And remember—when you step into my home, you're not just a guest, you're family!
