My name is Vitek Springorum. I am 21 years old and I come from Prague in the Czech Republic. I have two brothers and one sister. I have graduated at the musical highschool in Prague. I have been an active member of the student movement Fridays For Future which occupies itself with climate change. My big passion is music. I play violoncello, mandolin and banjo. Currently I am working at l'Arche, which is a global organisation that enables young people to live with mentally disabled people. I live in the l'Arche d'Aigrefoin community close to Paris so I am working on my french!!!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am young and rather extroverted. I have done my fair share of travelling given that I spent the first 6 to 7 years of my life in Maine (USA) where my family lived and given that my family is half german and half czech. And so, I have had the pleasure to meet very different people sometimes from very different cultural backgrounds and I would like to continue enriching my experiences with new encounters as I believe it can be the richest aspect of traveling. I also enjoy being of some use – I would love to bake a cake (maybe a czech speciality), clean the dishes, have a discussion or play a tune on my mandolin and of course in the case of being a host help a fellow traveler to find a place to stay.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like a lot of different kinds of music but I am currently very intrested in contemporary jazz (The Yellowjackets, Esmeralda Spalding, Avishai Cohen, Herbie Hancock, Snarky Puppy and more).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Forgot my cello bow at a simphonic orchestra concert and fake played cello for the 45 minutes performance of the Cesar Franck simphony in d-minor.
