Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
manage a cross-border adventure to be followed by half-nomadism, after recovery, which is hopefully soon
ABOUT ME
i care about friendship, it's the thing that makes one carry on, and that lasts...
i'm somewhat self-conscious, but relaxed people make me relax as well - one reason why i like such folks...
i try to be as open-minded as possible, keen to collect a variety of experiences
i dont like partying, clubbing activities, prefer to be in contact with the streets, with the outdoors
PHILOSOPHY
the more you travel, the more you know: a close translation of a turkish proverb
it's a temporary residence we take here in the world, better get as much as possible of it; and make people say and think after you, "was a good fella" when this worldly chapter is over...
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
none yet, though have met interesting people on the road - those, in fact, seem to be among the most interesting
Interests
i supposedly have lots of'em, but usually have never been able to carry'em to their fullest
my life-long top interest is travel, but am just now finding opportunities to carry that out, or rather, hope i'll be able soon - my reason for registering the CS
like sports in general, swimming's a favouorite, did carate for a while (enjoyd it a lot - be back to it as soon as i can)
take great enjoyment in hanging around the historical parts of istanbul, quenching my thirst to walk...
- partying
- clubbing
- traveling
- billiards
- outdoor activities
- sports
- swimming
Music, Movies, and Books
never been too much interested in movies, but the ones i remember right now having a hold me were: "city of lost children", "crash" (the one by cronenberg), and sth like "doom generation"; am open to any kind of music, lately have developed interest in classical turkish music and experimental newer versions of it; my latest favourite: john banville
british literature does appeal to me
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
it's weird to think all that i do rigth now, i owe to a perfect coincidence in a swimming pool
a constant amazement to me is to see loads of people wasting their lives in feeling compelled to carry on, say, a certain comsuption level
Teach, Learn, Share
dont consider myself as competent as to be able to teach anybody anything, though keen to learn and exchange... after all, it's all about getting to know people and sharing
