Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Why not? I believe the concept of couch surfing is a great way to learn about the host's local city/culture and get a better feel for the way people live and the way they do things. Life is all about creating new experiences, making memories and sharing laughs. I can't wait to hear your story and also to share mine.

I have many many interests, but I will try to limit my list to my all time favourites. They are hiking, skiing/snowboarding, strength training, eating, videography & photography, swimming, soccer, tennis. volleyball and of course TRAVELLING!

Music, Movies, and Books

My favourite music is that which makes you want to sing or dance. I loved the movies Forest Gump, Seven Pounds, and Predestination. I enjoyed reading the book "How to Win Friends and Influence People" as well as "Don't Sweat the Small Stuff".

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Since I've spent the last 6 years travelling at every opportunity that presented itself, I've witness many spectacular things. I will name my all time favourites here.

I watched the day fade to night at the most western point of continental Europe, a magical place called Cabo da Roca, Portugal. My friends and I were on the secluded beach surrounded by beautiful gigantic rock formations, and nothing but water, beautiful sand and a soft ocean breeze.

In Barbados, I signed up for a Catamaran fishing and snorkelling afternoon adventure, and got to swim with large beautiful sea turtles.

My five friends and I went to a farm located a couple of kilometres from the beach in Setubal, Portugal. We each rented a retired polo horse, and rode to the beach.

In 2012, I spent 6 months living in and travelling around Europe. I saw 14 beautiful countries while I was there. My favourites include Croatia, Spain, Holland, Germany, Slovakia and Italy.

In late 2012, I competed in the Tough Mudder obstacle race. I finished with a time which qualified me for the World's Toughest Mudder. My completion time of the gruelling 16 km obstacle course was 2 hours and 32 minutes.

During the summer of 2014, I visited my Italian friend in Rome. We drove her car along the coast of Italy, spending time in Florence, Siena, and other smaller but beautiful cities.

My two good friends and I rented vespas during our stay in the Amalfi coast. We drove up and down the coast for hours. Those were a few days I wish I could relive. We also rented a boat and circled the Island of Capri, Italy.

In 2015, I was selected after an audition for a TV commercial which would be aired on national Chinese television. I worked with one of China's A-listers by the name of Angelababy, and along side two international male models.

I've cliff jumped into cool waters from heights of 22 m in Wolfgansee, Austria, 20 m in Split, Croatia, and 18 m from Capri, Italy.

Spent a week full of adventure at Area 47 in Tirol, Austria with some of my school friends. There we went canyoning, white water rafting, cliff jumping, blobbing and bridge jumping.

My two friends and I visited Swarovski's headquarters in Austria, where we saw the World's most expensive crystal as well as the worlds most expensive wall. Not to mention being surrounded by enormous mountains.

In 2015, I visited the Great Wall of China, then Longqing Gorge with new friends which I made in Shanghai.

I climbed the high Tatras mountains in Slovakia with our Slovakian host and good friend Katarina, in addition to my four Canadian friends.

I worked as a tour guide for the summer of 2014, and took international students to NYC to ring in the New Year 2015! Other trips which I led included Montreal, Ottawa, Quebec City, Algonquin Park, Canada's Wonderland and the famous Niagara Falls.

I jogged up the stairs of Toronto's very iconic CN Tower...3 times. My quickest time to complete the climb was 15 minutes. It was for the charity WWF.

I went running with the Bulls in Spain with my Spanish host and friend. It was a heart racing experience that I am glad didn't injure nor kill me!

I look forward to making new memories around the world in the time to come :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm currently working as an English teacher in Kunshan of the Jiangsu province in China. I have many students ranging in age from 3 years old up to 45. If english is a language you'd like to practice or improve, I'm your guy!

I'd like to learn as much about your culture as possible. About things I can't learn from a textbook, and only through experience. I will do my best to teach you about my culture if you are interested.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am a big fitness advocate so you can ask me anything about fitness and nutrition. In Canada, I led large boot camps with 60 or more people! I exercise regularly and it has become a passion of mine!

I also LOVE movie making using my beloved GoPro...I make movies of my travels and take pride in doing so. I love photography and hopefully can teach you some tricks I've learned along the way! And I'm a student of life so I'm hoping to learn from you as well :)
