About Me

I guess I'm very easygoing. I like walking and riding my bike. I love dogs and pet every one I see on the street. Cats too. I like talking about what's going on in the world and how to make it better. I care a lot about others and I try to treat everyone with politeness and respect. I just don't do to others what I wouldn't want them to do to me. I don't talk much and I like spending time alone, but I'm always interested in a good conversation, a cup of coffee and some pizza, I never say no to pizza.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to see places and people and learn and share. I want to experience as many possibilites of life as I can.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love music, all kinds of music. I grew up listening to Rock Music, but then discovered Brazilian Music, then I got excited with Jazz and, as I tried to become a better guitar player, I realized I love Blues. And going out at night made me want to dance to the beats of Rap. Some artists I like are Pixies, Wilco, Bob Dylan, Oasis, De La Soul, Gangstarr, A Tribe Called Quest, Modest Mouse, Chico Buarque, Legião Urbana, Louis Armstrong, Billie Holiday, Pavement, Robert Johnson, Caetano Veloso, Belchior...

Books are my best friends. I read a lot of poetry and novels, but I also like reading about history, politics and psychology. I love Virginia Woolf, Joseph Conrad, Edgar Alan Poe, Machado de Assis, Walt Whitman, José Saramago, Thomas Hardy, James Joyce, Fernando Pessoa...

I used to like movies more, maybe somebody can help me out here. I need to see new movies. I loved most of the Cohen Brothers movies, Chaplin... Fight Club used to be my all-time favorite.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've traveled on my own along the Amazon river on ship, sleeping on a hammock.

Teach, Learn, Share

I've always worked as a language teacher. I love teaching and learning anything, I can help you learning Portuguese or English and I'd love to have somebody to practice my Spanish and improve my French, or help me learn any other language. I just love learning languages!
I can also teach you some basics on how to play the guitar or the harmonica (I'm not a great musician, but I have a lot of fun playing though).
I also love cooking and baking and sharing recipes and trying new food. I'm a vegetarian, but I respect other points of view, I just don't eat meat, don't want to convert anybody.
I'd love to know more about the environment. I love hiking and being in contact with nature, but I don't know much about plants and the fauna. I also would like to get more artistic skills like painting, sculpting and woodcarving.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I live in simple, but cozy house with my two dogs. I can offer you a sofa-bed to sleep in my living room. My kitchen is kinda big and fully equipped, you can use it as you wish, just keep things clean. And the bathroom, of course! I also have many books and wi-fi internet and a 5-minute walk takes you to an amazing, almost deserted beach.
