About Me

I just graduated from Amherst College in May of 2015 with and Environmental Studies degree, and I have a full time job lined up for March 2016. I am trying to make the best out of this time gap and go on as many adventures as possible.

My nationality is Romanian and I lived in the beautiful town of Brasov, Romania for 14 years before moving to the United States.

I am passionate about adventure and the outdoors. I've travelled extensively to the jungles of South America, both for pleasure and for research.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I told a friend of mine I wanted to go to Whistler, BC and immerse myself in a skiing paradise as we do not have much snow on the east coast this year. I also told him I was gonna try and do it on the cheap by go camping in a tent for about 20 days. That's when he suggested couch surfing and here I am.

I am also a firm believer that in order to explore a place to it's full potential you need the guidance and friendship of warm hearted locals and not that of greedy tour guides and resorts.

Interests

I am absolutely obsessed with skiing and could spend every day doing it if I had the available resources.

I also enjoy free diving and spearfishing. I am also very interested in helping to solve social issues and trying to make the world a better place. My upcoming job role is that of a management consultant for non profit organizations, I'm very excited about it!!

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm a big fan of all music, but I do love folk and punk a bit more than other genres.

In terms of books, I like reading Gabriel Garcia Marquez a lot, as well as Hemingway.

My favorite movies is: Le Grand Bleu !

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I lived for 3 months in the middle of the Bolivian rainforest. No electricity, no potable water, very challenging and primitive conditions. Amazing experience nonetheless.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share LOTS of interesting stories, a great positive attitude, and piece of every place I've been to so far.

Countries I’ve Visited

Bolivia, Costa Rica, England, France, Jamaica, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Romania, Switzerland
