I have a lot of favorite books, most of them being: non-fiction (science/philosophy), classics or something from Ancient Greece and Rome, but my favorite books probably are compilations of works by Plato and Aristotle. More specifically, I loved Plato's Republic and Theaetetus more than any other thing I have read. If asked for something less "mainstream", I typically suggest "The Moral Sayings of Publius Syrus, a Roman Slave". Outside of philosophy, I liked "The Shallows" and a lot of other non-fiction. Outside of non-fiction, I liked "No Longer Human", "À Rebours" and "Notes from Underground".

Music-wise, anything classical goes, although all my records in gym were set while hardcore gangsta rap was blasting through the radio.
