ABOUT ME

I'm Valerie, a 30-year-old from San Francisco, California. I run a Vietnamese street food business called Rice Paper Scissors and working on a book called Chinatown Pretty, which chronicles the street style of seniors living in Chinatowns across North America.

My first experience Couchsurfing was in France and Italy Fall of 2010. We met tons of generous folks that gave us an experience that we wouldn't have otherwise, and real insight in the culture. For me, it's more about the conversations and moments I have with locals that give me a sense of place.

PHILOSOPHY

I hope that one day my epitaph shall say "She never hesitated."
