Well, what can I say. I have been a member since 2006, but never really had the chance to host or be hosted in the past 11 years. I recently watched a TedEx video and it reminded me about this account. I wasn't sure it was still alive, so decided to check. The enthusiasm built up and I even became I paid member in the last 10 minutes. Anyway, this is just to build a small foundation and give you an idea of how I came to use the website again.

I have been taking a break from work in the past year. I used to work in the financial industry in New York for 13 years and in Sao Paulo for 3 years. It didnt make much sense to me working towards the objective focused mostly on making other corporates richer. So I decided to let go of that and come back to my hometown: Joinville. No, I wasnt born here. I was born in Rio de Janeiro. But I consider Joinville home. It's been a rewarding experience to finally be able to allow time to learn about myself. Someone I have never really paid much attention to until now.

Now, on a note focused more on why I decided to use couchsurf again. I believe relationships are truly meaningful when they are sincere, diverse or allow us to share experiences among ourselves. It's in my interest to become open to people who are enthusiastic about new cultures and ways of life. So, in a very short note, if you have something to contribute in that sense. You are welcome in my place.
