About Me

Hi, I’m VV from China, a student currently on a gap year traveling the world. Over the past year, I’ve been funding my travels through part-time jobs and my influencer career. In 2024, I made it to the United States, marking the end of my Southeast Asia journey. Along the way, I’ve tried work exchanges, overnight buses, meditation retreats, and more—experiences that have truly given me a different perspective on life, something I could never learn from textbooks.

I’ve met so many friends on the road, all of whom are genuine and kind. The time spent with them has become a precious treasure in my life. Because of this, I’ve fallen in love with the backpacking lifestyle, traveling like a local and immersing myself in the culture.

As for my hobbies, I love outdoor activities like hiking, snorkeling, and surfing. Here’s a little secret: I even saw a manta ray in Komodo Island, Indonesia!

I’m a cheerful, optimistic, and outgoing girl, and I hope we can become friends and share our travel stories!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite movie is *The Secret Life of Walter Mitty*. There’s a classic line in the film,“Stop dreaming. Start living.” It was this quote that gave me the courage to take a gap year and embark on my journey.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I felt really proud of myself for helping a foreign friend who couldn’t speak Chinese on the plane!

Teach, Learn, Share

If you're interested, I'd be happy to teach you some Chinese and even show you how to write your name in Chinese characters:)
I’d also love to learn a phrase or two in your local language!
I can share heartwarming stories from my travels and give you a deeper insight into Chinese culture.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I’ve brought some spices and seasonings from China, and I’d love to cook you an authentic Chinese meal. I’m also happy to help with cleaning and keeping the space tidy.
