ABOUT ME

ABOUT MARC: Originally a Long Islander that somehow found his way to Miami, Florida. I'm an easy-going pretty laid-back fellow; tragically overeducated with a taste for adventure and a never-ending quest to find rare birds. Professionally speaking, I am a veterinarian. I love my work; every day is a new challenge and opportunity to help people and animals. I'm also an avid birder, geocacher, hiker, paddler, and pretty much love any activity that gets me outdoors into nature. Traveling keeps me going, and I make sure to take at least a week per month exploring a new part of the world. In 2008-9, Eliana and I embarked on a once-in-a-lifetime journey from Florida to Alaska and back in our 1978 Volkswagen camper bus -- and in 2018 are at it again! ABOUT ELIANA: Eliana Ardila is a tree-hugging, tofu-eating, adventure-seeking Colombian gal. She's an enthusiastic and passionate advocate for improving the lives of animals. Much of her free time is dedicated campaigning for the rights of pets, farm animals, and wild creatures alike. Her working days are spent as chief veterinary technician for Project PetSnip, a charitable veterinary organization that focuses on pet sterilization. One word that perhaps best describes Eliana is "green"€. It'€™s not only her favorite color, but she has a zealousness for environmental awareness. Her eco-conscious spirit is reflected in everything that she does, from her appreciation of nature to recycling to veganism. She also enjoys getting creative with art projects, photography, traveling, running, triathlons and hiking. If you want to start up a good conservation, ask her about her favorite state, Alaska! She is extremely caring, reliable, and puts 110% into all her endeavors.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

In 2008-9, we traveled 25,000 miles across North America in our '78 VW Bus, and couch surfed over 20 times. At home in Miami, we are ready to return the favor of hosting our couch to other travelers.

2018: Once again, we are back on the road, journeying from Florida to Alaska on our "Birding by Bus" tour!
