About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Mission: Housing in Richmond for Volunteering for Kings Dominion!!
ABOUT ME
I am half Korean and half American. I have lived in Virginia all of my life except for two years in Germany. I studied Fashion Design at VCU and am now pursuing a graduate degree in Early & Elementary Education at VCU. I really enjoy Richmond, and I have a big heart for world missions. I have gone out for mission trips to Nigeria, Malawi, The Philippines, Cambodia, Tanzania and Rwanda. I am very involved in church activities, and even lead a girls' small group for my youth group. In my spare time, I tutor students who are getting ready for their TOEFL and SAT exams.
PHILOSOPHY
My personal philosophy is to live my life for the glory of God. My desire is to be like Christ and to pursue the dreams and visions He has given me for my life.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
This is my first time using the CS Project! I would like to continue to learn how to use it, and hopefully in the future be able to happily open up my own home to guests who are in need like I am.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
This is my first CouchSurfing experience. My roommate recently referred me to the organization when she needed a place to stay in NYC when her mom came to town.
Interests
I am focusing on my relationship with God. I enjoy designing and creating designs for t-shirts and fashion apparel. I love listening to music and playing acoustic guitar.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One amazing thing that I witnessed was when I was in Cambodia. In Cambodia, prostitution is legal, and a lot of women are exploited. Many are raped and abused. When I went over there for a mission trip, I wondered what sort of help that someone like me could give. I was not meant to be a pastor or counselor of any kind. However, one day, we went to a Women's Day Center, as was recommended by the local missionary we traveled with. There, we saw girls that were taken out of the brothels, given decent pay, and trained to sew, design, bake, cut hair, etc. These would be useful skills to help them in their futures. I was floored that they would be able to experience so much deliverance and love in that place, and be given a better, brighter future. This was an amazing thing--a lady from England sacrificed her own peaceful, comfortable life to help so many young women break free from terrible bondage. This was pretty amazing to me. After I left the day center, I cried and was so encouraged that anyone of any skill could be used to impact another life and set them free through Christ.
