Derek: Very friendly open, and down to earth young lad. Watches out for others and strives to make everyone feel welcome, relaxed, and loved. Loves to discover new things in life with an enthusiastic spirit.

Life in general engages me. I enjoy talking to people, reading, art, music, and learning about other cultures. I am studying Spanish at Kansas State University, with minors in biology, entomology, and a pre-medical emphasis. I am also a member of FarmHouse Fraternity (www.ksfh.net) and work in a genetics laboratory on campus. The majority of my time is spent studying, spending time with fraternity brothers and friends, growing in my walk with Christ, and eating as much frozen yogurt as possible.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

1. Visiting the ocean leaves me speechless. So does visiting art galleries, the smell of homemade bread, and watching Phantom of the Opera (live or on the silver screen).

2. I am an only child, yet I now live with 60+ men in the fraternity. This leaves me awestruck daily.

3. I am continually amazed with the ways that God moves in my life and in the lives of those surrounding me.
