ABOUT ME

I grew up in Southern California but wasn't really born until about 2005 when I met a group of brilliant freaks called the Sacred Dice (we'll read their histories later). I lived in Edinburgh, Scotland for two years, traveled a lot, fell in love in Granada and haven't looked back. Karine and I got married after a few years of bouncing between Montreal, California, Scotland and a really unfortunate visa accident in the UK. Now we live in Montreal. Life is beautiful. We gotta shake it up. By doing things like going to Burning Man every year!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We're going to see! I've met lots of couchsurfers but haven't stayed in one place long enough to host. That is now changed!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've slept on a lot of couches. None were officially couchsurfing. All were comfortable. Breakfast is an extremely good meal, and I like to cook it. Everyone I'm met from CS has been amazing.

兴趣

Any music that creates a desire for dancing atop neon lit mountains, books to startle the mind, conversations with brilliant and crazy people to stimulate the soul, altered states through paths both mental and physical, foreign languages (not yet a success), excessive and 'unproductive' amounts of travel towards no clear societal or monetary goal.

Fight Club, anything Kurosawa, Life is Beautiful, Star Wars (all of them, lets not be cynics!). Books by Nietzsche, Leonard Cohen, Camus, Bukowski, Kundera. Music of any kind that moves the spirit! But, U2 (the most important band in the world), Dylan, Cohen, Springsteen, Tom Waits, Wilco, Ted Leo, Animal Collective, Oasis, Sigur Ros.

Falling in love in Spain. Then SUSTAINING it like the long-held note of a Phish solo bending it around with words and fingers till it falls cascading into a new light.

Honestly I probably won't know until it comes up, but i've become pretty good at explaining political theory, the state of african politics, various philosophies, the problems of language, self-consciousness...

So, who wants to teach me how to build something out of wood? I'm feeling outdone by several woodland creatures.
