Life's a journey. Enjoy it, even the rough spots.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
We'll tell you all about it, just ask!
We've hosted a fair amount, and would like to couchsurf more. Lots of informal couch-crashing prior to that.
Any outdoor activity that involves bipedal locomotion and doesn't involve motorized vehicles, like hiking, backpacking, skiing, running, photography, birding, wildlife watching, conservation, earth sciences, geology, geomorphology, botany, native plants. Also politics, photography, literature, music, travel, gardening, and computer technology.
Music, Movies, and Books
Winged Migration, The Red Violin, The Piano, Amelie, Talk to Her, Everything Is Illuminated, All of the Lord of the Rings Movies, To Kill A Mockingbird...
Addicted to documentaries, especially BBC.
A Few Favorite Books:
Sometimes a Great Notion, Middlesex, Killer Angels, Everything is Illuminated, The Worst Journey in the World, Les Miserables, and a bazillion others!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
We're lucky enough to see amazing sights often...200,000 snowgeese rising in unison at dawn from a lake on the Rocky Mtn front, incredible wildflowers in Glacier and Mount Rainier Nat'l Parks, wolves in Yellowstone, walking the Upper Geyser Basin on a -26F morning, being pinned down by a severe electrical storm at 11,000 feet (which we thought we were going to die in), a fantastic display of the northern lights, perfect snowflakes, double rainbows, drinking wine while watching sunsets over redrock canyons…no way can we pick just one!
Teach, Learn, Share
We have outdoor jobs, Kurt's a naturalist/guide by profession. Eve's job consists of conducting resource inventory on public lands; she is also a part time guide. We make a great team and possess an in-depth knowledge of the wildlife, plants, geology and human history of the Western US. We'd like to share our appreciation of the beauty of this country by meeting new people and learning about their interests and ethics in their part of the world and at the same time, showing them what we care about.
