HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I travelled all over the world on a low budget before there was CS, on many different couches and places, meeting so many wonderful people.
Now with CS I hosted a lot of people from different countries.
After a few good and quite some disappointing experiences I only reply on personal requests.
No reply on all these copy/paste requests!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Since I traveled single most of the time and always tried to experience and 'live' the local culture I was often invited to couches. Long before I ever heard about CS.

It's a pity that recently the original CS idea gets tainted by too many people who just want a free hotel room and don't really care for their host.
Even last minute cancellations and no shows become common.

I have experienced many places and many cultures around the world. Met a lot of interesting people.
Totally refurbished a ship (new engine from a bus, all new interior..) all alone.
Teaching English in Taiwan.
Guiding tours in the desert of Mauritania.
Exploring Nicaragua for touristic tours.
Training railway people in Saudi Arabia.
and so much more...
End of 2019 I moved to Abkhazia. I'm happy here (and I escaped this COVID craziness in Europe just in time ...).
