I just finished college in Oberlin, Ohio, with a degree in music history/theory. I'm staying in Oberlin for the time being, enjoying the community and resources here without the pressures of being a student. I play piano and some guitar, and I sing. I'm interested in small alternative communities. And big ones like couchsurfing, as well.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've hosted and I've surfed.
At the moment I prefer to host over the weekend, because work takes up so much of my time during the week. I'm more comfortable hosting you if you have references and couch-surfing friends/connections.
I've met wonderful people. Thanks.
music, books, change, communes, singing with people, open mics, cannabis, radical mental health, languages, pianos, exciting stringed instruments that I don't know how to play, mental health, health generally, wine, mountains, bodies of water, love
Music, Movies, and Books
Vienna Teng, Ani Difranco, Indigo Girls, et al.
books: Woman on the Edge of Time, Stone Butch Blues... and recently fascinated with Klaus Mann.
Movies: some stuff sometimes.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I got to sit in on music therapy sessions at a school for handicapped children. That was, for lack of a more eloquent mood at the moment, some amazing shit.
Teach, Learn, Share
I've recently started giving piano lessons and have found to my surprise that I am able to do that. I'll share whatever musical knowledge I can with you (and happily absorb what I can, too). I also really enjoy practicing languages.
