Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am hoping to travel the world and I want to meet as many interesting people along the way. Life is incredibly short and whilst I have spent my life "travelling," on holidays in hotels and doing tours, I've never immersed myself into solo travel and had the opportunity to meet local people along the way.

In an ideal world I'd be travelling and meeting new people who would hopefully be able to show me a few things about their city and their life, their favourite spots to eat, drink, dance, relax.

It can never hurt having more friends around the world and I'm a good one to have, I'd also be glad to return the favour.

Music, Movies, and Books

My two favourite movies are

1. Forest Gump because it's just an epic adventure. It feels like an over the top version of my life, full of stories, some good some bad, most of it not really believable. I can watch this film several times a year for life.
2. The Pursuit of Happiness, always a movie to watch that makes me feel good. A story of overcoming despair and coming out on top and it's a true story!

Music

That's a hard question to answer because I'll listen to anything from Nina Simone to Marco Carola, Rachmaninov to Radiohead, Led Zeppelin to Lighthouse family. It all depends on what mood I am in but good music is essentially good music to me.

Books

I don't read much fiction anymore, I just can't seem to keep interested in it.
When I do find the time to read, I'll read about obscure topics most people won't find too interesting, like economics.
