About Me

Hello, friends on Couchsurfing!

My name is Wang Xuemei, but I know Chinese is always difficult to pronunce, so just call me Mei(pronunced like May in English). Please do not say "hello, Wang" , becauese Wang is the family name and "hi Wang" is just a litte bit strange ;)

Nice to meet with all of you from this adorable planet!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Friends! of course!
That traditional traveling way has always troubled me, taking a photo in front of a symbolic architect, rushing from one spot to another.
I prefer a way that would get closer to local lives and culture, and make many friends with different backgrounds.

Interests

There is an old saying in China: read more, and walk more. Reading and traveling are both the things that enrich my life. The huge planet is definitely the best teacher of my life.

Life is a kind of process. And I want to design this process fully intereting that combines the most pure and beautiful part in the lifetime. It means dream, creativity, excitement and so on, but sometimes it also accompanied with anxiety, despair and risk. However,I always love the initial experience although it is complex.

Music, Movies, and Books

Reading one book per week on average is probably my oldest habit. So it's hard to select one favorite. Prefer Chinese literature.

Music and movie also enrich our life. I like them but I don't spend too much time on them.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

At the age of 18, after that crucial College Entrance Examination, I hiked cross the most part of northern China, sometime hitchhiking. I've been through gobi desert, grassland, great mountains. China really possesses a wonderful land.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Cultural interaction.
Are you curious about the mysterious old Oriental civilization?Well, we may have a lot of differences, but that's exactly the greatest charm of traveling.
Whenever you come to China, to my city, you will be warmly welcomed.

ps. I promise to keep the room or couch clean and tidy
