About Me

I am in my thirties, culture anthropologist, and post doc. I moved to Switzerland in 2017. I am still exploring Lausanne. So far, my life has been in academia. I'm interested in the human aspects of the waste challenge, as well as the aging care. I can talk about anthropology all day And you won't to be bored. Because several years in the Himalayas, and more than a year in xi'an offered me wonderful stories and amazing friendship that I am always ready to share with the world, in a chat, or in a scentific paper.

I enjoy traveling, or you can say I am a professional. I travel for research, job, work, conferences, and etc. Visiting a new city or village inspires me in ways that I did not expect. Making the familiar unfamiliar, as the anthropologists say, is something I appreciate.

In down time, I enjoy reading or walking aimlessly through a landscape. I take the world all in and store it in my memory. It resurfaced in unexpected moments and profound ways. I believe humans are more connected to each other and to the world than we often believe.

I am a fan of solitude also, but I welcome friends from near and far when I can. That is why I like couchsurfing and enough of the shared economy that tricked us back to the capitalist scam... Well, hope you have some thoughts on that and we sure can share conversations over some beaverage. Cheers!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I would like to host people and hang out. Or, simply hang out. I may look for a couch around your city or village.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I hosted a couple students presenting papers at my then city. I attempted to find a host for my own conference but instead rented a place shared with colleagues. Well I hope I will get better at this.

Music, Movies, and Books

Reading academic papers and books is my profession so nothing to mention about it. For entertainment, I tend to like novels with darker tones or thoughtful plots as I do not know repetition. My top list includes, The Goldfinch, The Stranger, In the dark, dark place..., Cabin in the Woods, A hundred years of solitude, and many Chinese novelists' work such as The Three-body Problem.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I saw a bald eagle once, and then many following that. The saying must be true.

Teach, Learn, Share

I get to know people fast. I am good at sharing my stories and listening to what others have to offer. Life is unlimited for a lifetime learning, I believe. I am also interested in crafts and always wanting to learn.
