Otherwise here we go:

I used to hitchhike, backpack, and volunteer around, but until 2028 I'm taking a break to be in school! My hometown is Beijing, China, so in a way attending university in the States is my current big adventure. Vacations and breaks though I'm back on the road. :D

My personality is somewhere between an outdoor fanatic and quiet nerd - meaning I fancy a nice week-long trek just as much as being a couch potato and reading in my pajamas. But I like to say I'm discovering a new piece of myself every day, and traveling/wandering around/getting lost (and hopefully found) is an integral part of this experience.

Crowds and commotion stress me out, but in cozy places I'm all lively again, and keen for conversation. I love to hear about all the cute and crazy stories in the people I meet; everyone is such an expansive world in themselves. Some days I think 99% of my life is about interaction with people, myself included, while the remaining 1% can go to culture, history, academia...

Trip is ongoing - very excited about the connections I will build here on Couchsurfing!

Update 2023.11: found my new favorite sport - freediving. I might unconsciously start preaching it to you ;)

**Btw my second-ever couchsurfing host said this about reading that really inspired me: that it is not the content of the book that matters to her, but the feelings & emotions that come up during reading – the experience of reading the book – that makes it special.
