ABOUT ME
I am from a small town on the Chesapeake Bay in Virginia, I was born and raised here and returned recently to work in the family business. In addition to work I also teach cooking classes and am an avid homebrewer, beer mainly but some cider and mead also. I am pursuing blacksmithing and glassblowing as hobby/craft when money, time, and experience allows. I have taken courses at Penland School of Craft and work some with local artisans. My other hobby/craft that I am now pursuing is organic gardening which I hope to turn into sustenance farming on family land where I will build my home. My favorite thing to do after a week of work is go somewhere, have a good beer and read the Sunday NY Times, though I spend most of my off time running around visiting friends
PHILOSOPHY
Life should be lived now not at some future time, that which we put off doing will most likely not be done. People are what is important and our interactions with them not the things or stuff we collect.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
New to CS and hoping to be able to offer a couch, and am starting to look for groups or others to connect with. Will definitely be surfing in the near future, and am excited about meeting new people with the spirit of hospitality.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Being broke and underemployed for the better part of the last 10 years(though stable now) most of my travel has been done based on available couch space and easy train or car access. Though mainly with friends I have regularly stayed with friends of friends and general acquaintances. My friends also know that wherever I am they have a free place to stay for whatever reason. My most recent couch adventure was 2 weeks in Brazil with a friend.
