PHILOSOPHY

I am interested in living life as an ongoing investigation into how the different systems between and under which societies live. I am a strong believer in social justice as well as in localized change that can influence greater causes.
I believe in a kind of positive energy that can shift one's perspective on situations to either motivate a change to or adapt to any such situation.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Haven't used couchsurfing in a few years but had a period of frequent use while travelling by motorcycle up and down the eastern US coast.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Most of my experience is along the east coast of the United States- generally between Maryland and Georgia. I have done a lot of motorcycle trips between these two states and have stayed with a variety of beautiful and generous hosts. I have also hosted folks while at home in Baltimore.

Interests

As a mode performance art, I am interested in body movement as dance that creates different and unexpected relationships between the viewer and performer. This stems from my interest in the presentation of the body and what this means for blurring gender boundaries as well as breaking social conventions.
I think that the language that frames relationships is fascinating in how it creates localized structures which influence how one interacts with another. I like to think about how the rhythm of conversation and the intonation of the way people speak to each other can be a kind of musical improvisational "jam".
Also learning lots about herbal healing.

I am into folk songs and pop vocals melodies. Also techno, house, noise, ambient, other forms of electronic soundmaking.

I read a lot of social theory, poetry, herbal identification books.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I lived alone in Stokkseyri, Iceland for three months in the Winter.
