About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To be present in the world

ABOUT ME

Not much to say. Interested in encounters, intersections of energy expressed as personality in space and time, and what these have to teach.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm energy focused, at least partially, in this place and time. All other attitudes and assumptions seem to cloud that focus. To be a clear lens, to become the pure expression of that energy, that would be truly living, truly alive.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Occasionally host.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Have hosted a few travelers and have enjoyed it each time.

Interests

Water and stone, earth and sky, leaf and limb, ancient sacred places, deep pools and cold waters, all growing things, greens and berries, fruits and roots, and the spirits that dance within them.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Life itself is an amazing thing done and seen, but here's one that comes to mind.

In the still wee hours of an autumn morning, walking in a large gravel pit in the moonlight, feeling very down and alone, I heard the call of a mocking bird. Following it, I came upon a lone, bare tree. He sat on a branch, maybe 8 feet high. I stopped at the base of the tree, looking up at this wonderful songster.

He did not fly away, so I whistled a few notes. He paused and looked down at me. I whistled again. He whistled back, a perfect imitation. I whistled again, a little higher. He repeated it. We did this quite a few times, back and forth, a bit higher each time. When I reached my highest pitch, he repeated it, then continued the whistle, higher and higher. And I laughed out loud. He had won the "dueling whistlers" and went back to his solitary serenade.

Teach, Learn, Share

Not sure what I have to teach. Will have to think on this. Too busy learning. We are drawn to where we need to be and each meeting, each interaction, teaches everyone involved. What we have to teach or learn is dependent on the moment and so often unexpected.
