About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To learn and teach new arts and languages in interesting corners of the globe.

ABOUT ME

I'm a 30-something woman who's been happily married for 14 years and a mom to my son who was born in January of 2013. I love being creative and exploring the world. I'm currently living in Kobe, Japan.

PHILOSOPHY

Be the change you wish to see in the world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

After having had the chance to both host and surf, I've become enthusiastic about couchsurfing. It's about a lot more than a place to stay, it's about getting to know other people in a way that "normal" travel doesn't usually allow.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We've hosted and CouchSurfed. We loved getting to spend time with our hosts, and were amazed at how much we had in common!

Interests

Knitting, quilting, lampworking, jewelery making, board games, TEA! Bookbinding

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Being an exchange student in High School was incredible. I loved living in Japan, and would love to live there again. Diving with sharks in the Bahamas was fabulous. Drinking tea in Taiwan and chatting in Japanese with an elderly Taiwanese woman - cross cultural communication at its best. Riding in the back of a S. Korean army jeep is surreal. Seeing the Fjords in Norway and meeting a kindred spirit in Trondheim.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love sharing the world of tea with others. It's so much more than what comes in a bag. Sharing tea is sharing great conversation and experiences. I also love teaching others to knit or do other fun crafts.

Countries I’ve Visited

Denmark, Indonesia, Norway, Taiwan

Countries I’ve Lived In

Australia, China, Japan, South Korea, United Kingdom, United States
