One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Dec 8, 2014
Today is sunny day.
I was going to Tachilek(Myanmar) from Mae Sai(Thailand) with my friend Daniel in the morning. Because we didn't have any plan. We just hang around a market and street.

But Daniel said :「 it's so boring. Maybe we can go to climb a mountain.」

Because he saw a few mountains away out there. So we decided to go to one of mountain. We asked local people how to get there and set off. We passed by a village. We saw many children played together and did housework on the way. About 20 min later, we got the trailhead and ascended. 20 min later, we saw a pagoda and we stopped to saw that. And we saw many preserved trenches. we are so excited and went inside to take pictures. After a while, we saw a guy he came outside from a house. He carry a long stuff on his back. But we ignored him and keep talking and laughing. I found he keep staring us. And I carefully looked the "long stuff" again. No matter the shape, length, it looks like a gun!! FUCK!! So we clasped our hands and left as quick as possible to get back the original road.

And Daniel asked me :「 Do you want to keep going to top?」
I :「Of course! We already here! Why not!」

Almost 5 mins later, we got to the top. We first took pics with scenery, and turned back to go to Pagoda's platform. When we ready to aboard, I noticed two preserved trenches looks like I had seen a movie "The Burmese Harp" when I was child. So we hesitate, and then Daniel saw a board carved "central force military" 's sign.

And he asked me :「 Should we keep going?」
I told him :「It must beautiful down the hill.」

So we bent down and climbed the stairs. The last one has a cute puppy welcomed us. When we almost got the platform, I found a man who wear a green uniform and has a red star on it.

So I turned back and told him :「We should go!!」
When we down the mountain, we passed the first Pagoda. Suddenly, we heard someone yelling to us in Burmese. Although we can understood what was he saying, but we knew he was threaten us.

And I told Daniel :「RUN!!」
But he said :「 Don't!!」
So I told him : 「We can't speak Burmese. We can't communicate with them.」

And then, we stated to dash. I turned back to saw Daniel, he took off his shoes. Dashing by bare feet on concrete. 30 mins distance, we just took 5 mins. When we got to foothill, we keep turning back all the time. We were afraid of they take the gun and ride motorcycle to chase us. We like a main character on gangster films. We just wanted to leave here as soon as possible.

The night, when we on the way back home. Looked the sunset. We are so happy for alive. We keep talking and laughing. But we have this experience, we knows next time if you go to unfamiliar place. You have to wear a nice shoes!!
