ABOUT ME

i enjoy walking around, interacting with my environment, and convincing myself of seemingly impossible things. i hesitate to say i AM anything because i don't think people should be pigeonholed by their occupations, family roles, toothpaste brands, etc.

Six years after I wrote the above description it's still mostly true! Now I'm a married lady living with my husband and our two cats, BearDog and Napoleon. We're all pretty rad, just sayin...

PHILOSOPHY

you can't force anyone to be anything, everything happens at the rate that it happens. you can only work on yourself. a place is a place is place; the people you meet along the way are what make the trip memorable.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

i'd never heard of couch surfing until i landed in frankfurt (on june 22 of 2007) and was introduced to it by a fellow backpacker. i've been couch surfing germany (and a few other places)since then. i've had nothing but wonderful, positive couch surfing experiences!

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

my beau and i hitchhiked throughout the west. we left from portland, oregon, headed down the coast, and ended up in columbia, missouri 2 months later. it has completely restored my faith in the kindness of strangers.

*Things have changed since I wrote this a few years ago. My beau is now my husband and we still love traveling together. We've both got cars now, though, so we haven't hitchhiked in a while.

i can teach you how to cut peppers in a way that makes removing the seeds easier, how to make noise with a blade of grass, how to fold cranes, how to speak pig latin, and how to knit!
