About Me

**I'm new to CouchSurfing, so don't have any references yet. I can reassure you that I'm not an axe murderer. Okay now to the intro..

Hey guys, I'm Wendy!

I'm currently studying at the University of Melbourne doing a Bachelor of Commerce. I'm in my 4th year (it's only meant to be 3..). I'm hoping to travel to Leiden in the Netherlands at the start of next year to finish off my degree and then basically travel all around Europe till I run out of money.

I'm always told that once you start full-time work it's so much harder to travel and to do as much as I can while I can. So that's basically my plan!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Currently have a few trips planned and am hoping to meet some new people. Heard really positive things from friends about the wonderful CS community and I'm always keen to try out something new.

Can't host at the moment, as I live with my parents :( sorry.

Interests

I am a major foodie. One thing I absolutely love about Melbourne is the huge variety we have when it comes to food. Not to much it's (for the most part) really really freaking amazing quality. Brunch is almost guaranteed Sunday mornings and pretty much the first thing I get excited about when I book a trip is the food.

I love my sports as well. I've grown up playing various sports but took a particular interest in netball and swimming. (Fun fact: I've been a swim teacher since I was 16 years). I also love skiing, despite that I am absolutely terrible at it. Oh well, as long as I have fun right? On top of that, I am a big fan of the footy (AFL - carn the hawks!) and also get around the tennis.

Despite the fact that I'm super unfit, I love anything outdoorsy. (Although that does also include lying on the beach kind of outdoorsy). There's nothing better than hiking up to the top of somewhere and seeing the incredible view - it makes everything so worth it.

Music, Movies, and Books

TV Shows:
Suits, Family Guy, Archer, Modern Family, Orange is the New Black, The Office, The Simpsons, House of Cards, Friends, House..yeah I watch too much TV (and YouTube)..

Music:
I absolutely LOVE my music. Life without music is like food without flavour. Seeing live music and dancing are some of my favourite things to do. I wouldn't say I have a particular genre that I prefer. Basically any music that sounds good and fits with the mood/is good to dance to. I love classic 90s/early naughties songs (particularly on a night out), but other than that..Disclosure, Odesza, Caribou, Flume, Bonobo, Flight Facilities, SBTRKT, Muse, Coldplay, Jamie XX, Kygo, Chet Faker, Duke Dumont...I could honestly keep rattling for so long but you get it. I'm a big music festival person too. While the festival scene is pretty good in Australia, I don't think it compares in the slightest to Tomorrowland, Ultra, Coachella etc in the slightest! Hope to go to all of those in future - they look INSANE!
