Overview
About Me
I love to travel, after catching the bug as an ESL teacher. I lived in Jeju, South Korea, for two years where I met some of the most positive and sociable people who changed my perspective on life. Before this I taught briefly in Spain, subsequently learning the tiniest bit of Spanish. I currently work as a Director of Studies in Ukraine, where the local people are a constant source of surprise and generosity.
As my work in Ukraine is seasonal I am currently teaching in a small village in Italy and looking to worm my way back to the UK next week, through some slow but scenic train travel.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I hosted whilst living in South Korea, and thought the website a fantastic way for travelers to see the 'real' place they're visiting.
Two years ago I spent three months constantly couchsurfing across North America, performing stand up comedy in every city I visited. By far the proudest time of my life, and the most interesting!
Interests
I enjoy reading, watching films and drinking and eating with friends.

Slaughterhouse 5 - Kurt Vonnegut

100 Years of Solitude - Gabriel Garcia Marquez
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Went to a Russian Orthodox church in St. Petersburg, which was pretty amazing. Also a Buddhist temple in a cave where monks keep vigil day and night will keep with me. Sleeping under the stars during a meteor storm in the south of France.
Teach, Learn, Share
Alas, I am pretty talentless. Always willing to teach English, as is my job; to cook - which I enjoy although I'm not terribly good at - and to clean as part of my rent-in-kind!
