ABOUT ME

I'm kind of known as easy-going. I'm not always the life of the party, but I enjoy being part of it! I've traveled quite a bit going around the world a couple times. I believe friendship and family are the key to happiness. I'm all about making and building relationships because that's true wealth. I came back to the states three years ago and have had a passion for the outdoors. Buddhist philosophy and meditation have also been an important part of my life to help me grow.

PHILOSOPHY

Accepting things as they are to connect with those around you is a my main goal now. My main philosophy is to take advantage of the time you have now and make the most of what you have now. I love the symbolism of the hero's journey and try to apply it to my life.

I'm ready to show anyone my part of the world and give them a place to rest their head.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have found it to be completely awesome. It's such a great way to meet new and interesting people. The experiences you have with hosts and guests is so much better than a hostel or hotel. You get to have real experiences with locals instead of just being a tourist.

Interests

I'm into motorcycles and will be the rest of my life :) Currently I'm without one, but should get one soon.
I enjoy the great outdoors and all that they have to offer. National parks great. I've been to a bunch and love the wild beauty of the States.
I've spent a few years exploring different parts of Buddhism as well as mindfulness in a more academic setting. I've learned so much from these practices and realize there is so much more.
Really, my main interest is being around people who are alive and enjoy a good laugh. I'm pretty content as long as I'm in that situation. I'm a firm believer of surrounding yourself with good people and I try to be someone who is positive to be around.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music - Everything -- I go through stages. Not a huge passion of mine, but love stuff with soul. My deep secret is a love for Michael Bolton ;)
Movies - Star Wars, Day in a life, The Tree of Life, Cloud Atlas and anything that is epic or makes me think.
Books - Pagan Christ, Guns Germs and Steel, Geography of Thought, Hemingway, Jack London and Steinbeck

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Feeling like the Cultural Revolution never ended on a hike through Tiger Leaping Gorge, China.
