ABOUT ME

Umm, let's see...

I'm restless and I get bored easily. I'm kinda bored right now! Maybe that's why I'm doing this! I've travelled a lot and I don't plan on stopping anytime soon...

I love sports (although surfing is pretty much all I do these days). I love music (who doesn't) but am not very talented when it comes to playing instruments and it's illegal in most developed countries for me to sing in public. It's not difficult to convince me that having a beer is a great idea. It can be difficult to convince me to stop sometimes though... I don't smoke. I don't really have much of an interest in drugs but I don't have a problem with other people enjoying them. Actually, I don't have a problem with people enjoying whatever they like. As long as it doesn't have a negative effect on others, go crazy!

PHILOSOPHY

I love being free. Just make the most of your life and don't waste a second. Whatever you want to do, as long as it's not going to hurt someone else I think you should do it!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've only ever stayed with friends, or friends of friends. Mostly up and down the east coast of Australia but also in the USA, Norway and England. I always had a great time and tried to be a good guest. Every experience was awesome and I hope I can repay some of those people now!

Interests

Practically all sports, especially surfing. Music, travel, adventure. I like swapping stories with friends and making each other laugh. I like to be challenged, mentally and physically. I like learning something new, I like to be surprised. I like to keep moving. I don't want to stop somewhere just because it looks good, I want to see what's around the next corner... I want to see the whole world. I know I won't even come close but I will literally die trying!

Music, Movies, and Books

I could go on forever. I don't like really heavy/death metal or RnB. I could probably live without country music too. Apart from that though, I like all types of music. Books? I love reading! I could pick up almost any book and enjoy it. I will give special mention to anything written by Bill Bryson especially "A Short History of Nearly Everything" and "The Perfect Storm" by Sebastian Junger. (The movie was pretty shit though.) As for movies, there are plenty I like but I can take them or leave them. I find it difficult to sit still (unless I'm asleep) for that long and my mind tends to wander...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Surfing alone under a full moon in the Maldives was something I'll remember for a while...

Teach, Learn, Share

I live in a very touristy area. I used to work as a tour guide taking people to Moreton Island (off Brisbane) and Fraser Island (The largest sand Island in the world) and would be happy to show people around there or give them advice on what to see and what to avoid. I love surfing and am happy to share what I know about that. I'm not the best teacher, especially if the waves are good because I just want to go surfing... I am getting better at teaching though!

I'd love to learn another language. I've started to teach myself four different languages so far and haven't learnt one. It's just so difficult trying to learn another language without spending a lot of time in that country. Any help with Norwegian would be appreciated! I like hearing about where people are from, not just the country but their hometown. Little known facts and things like that interest me and get me inspired to go there!
