Hey everyone, my name is West. I'm 21 years old and I'm from Santa Cruz, California. I was born and raised here, but I've had the amazing opportunity to travel many places already: Costa Rica, England, Germany, Shetland, Italy, and I even got to live in Norway for a year. I love meeting new people on my journeys, and seeing the different cultures, societies, architecture, art, and delicious foods in the places I go. Some activities I'm interested in are slacklining, hiking, photography, skateboarding, reading, and grilling up good food on the BBQ! I'm on Couchsurfing for a few reasons. I think that it is a great wat to meet new people across the world, get a local's tips on where to visit and what foods to try, and build friendships that will last a lifetime. Saving some money is an added bonus as well!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Living in Norway for a year is one amazing thing I've done. I was on vacation there visiting family, and got the opportunity to stay, so I did. It was an intense experience at first, because I was dealing with a culture shock and language barrier. But after some time, I started to love it there. I started getting a grasp on the language and I made some really awesome friends, and that whole year built me up as a person like nothing I could have dreamed of.
