ABOUT ME

A few years ago I realized that had I died the next day, all I'd have to show for myself was work and a few good times. That didn't cut it. So, I saved up some money and took off with the intention of seeing the world for a year. I don't expect to stop afterwards, just build up a little steam before jaunting out again.
I've learned a great many things since I had that eye opener. I'm self taught in nutrition and fitness, I've escaped the narrow minded "ideal life" of the US, and the narrow minds from the US. I've had some spiritual experiences and am trying to learn their meaning.
I believe one shouldn't travel to find one's self, you should do that first, then travel as a celebration of the questions that will come naturally

PHILOSOPHY

The body leads the mind as much as the mind leads the body. Even if you don't feel like you having something to smile about, esp if this is the case, smile and the rest will surely follow

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I joined couch surfing after starting my trip, so I haven't hosted, but would like to when I get home and settled.
The only way I can participate during my trip is to be cool and open minded - willing to learn from hosts, to try to see things with new eyes, try new things, and freely share any wisdom I may have should they want to learn anything from me

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Not many really. I tried a couple times near the beginning of my trip, but was disappointed cause the hosts would bail at literally the last minute. I'm trying again now that I am in Europe and have already had one great CS experience

My passions are skiing, music (I don't play any instruments, but love finding music overlooked by mainstream media), and lately writing.
I of course have a wide variety of other interests - sports (both playing and watching), traveling (duh), trying new things, constantly learning, getting out of my comfort zone
