Overview
About Me
I'm a non-traditional college student, and I'm currently augmenting my study abroad program with some backpacking! I must admit, I'm not for roughing it in the woods, but I'm a "live like a local" kind of person. I really enjoy meeting new people and listening to their experiences. Very open minded and genuinely interested in absorbing as much as I can before I go home. Not much of a nightlife person, but I can't say no to a good time.
Auch reise ich nach Europa Deutch zu lernen. Wann ich in ein Hause Deutch sprechen kann, gefällt mir sehr, aber ich spreche langsam. Natürlich kann ich auch Englisch sprechen, wenn du willst.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm not flying halfway around the world to sit at a resort all summer. I want to get to know the places I travel, and maybe one day move to one of them. I think of travel as holding auditions for a future lifestyle, but it's hard to do that in hotels and hostels. Don't get me wrong, I also want to experience a European hostel. I've heard they're tons of fun, but that seems like experiencing a place as an outsider, which is less preferable to me.
Music, Movies, and Books
I was a huge fan of Hemingway in high school, so I've been wanting to go see a bullfight for years. I will probably be ready to talk about Game of Thrones by the time this profile is being read (the US is crazy about that show), but my all time favorite is Rick and Morty. I like to say that I listen to all kinds of music, but honestly, death metal and pop country never did it for me. Idk if those are popular outside the US, but I have quite a few friends that insist I should get into it.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I think of myself as being at the beginning of my journey.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can offer a bunk bed and a bathroom (of course), a kitchen, and some good bread from a local bakery (I never eat it fast enough to not share)
Feel welcome to practice English or German with me.
Maybe a ride? Depends on the timing.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I haven't got much, but I will tag along to anything (and I think I make good company). Of course, I'm open to practicing English or helping out with dinner. I enjoy cooking, but I wouldn't promise it's for everyone. I also enjoy the active meditation style of Thich Nhat Hanh. I wouldn't advertise myself as a teacher, but I definitely enjoy conversing over the topic.
