About Me

To grow in awareness and consciousness and heart. To meet people I-Thou and to help witness this crazy maelstrom of a universe spin and whirl its magic all around us.

Smart, warm, funny, and friendly.

Core of my personal philosophy is that I (and others) really do not know anything. All children. All beginning. All should be open to any new information, regardless of collisions with old ossified beliefs. Out with the old, in with the new.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Being the best surfer I can, in perception, sensitivity, cleanliness, and joy.

I'm on my first couch now and much love and learning flowing between the host and I. Wonderful.

Edible wild plants and mushrooms. Computer programming. The night sky.

Music, Movies, and Books

On two occasions in my life I have lost all of my books. Thousands of books each time. Try it sometime, it's not necessarily a bad thing.

My car has a limited library of say 50 books, but here's a few of them off the top of my head.

"Botony in a Day" - Thomas J. Elpel
"Botony for Gardners" - Brian Capon
"Lasker's Manual of Chess" - Dr. Emanuel Lasker
"The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali" - Charles Johnston
"Beelzebub's Tales to His Grandson" - G.I. Gurdjieff
"Growing Gourmet and Medicinal Mushrooms" - Paul Stamets

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Reaching the mountain pass at шумак to see lakes below and vast mountains ahead.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have been programming computers since I was 7. 30+ years. Many times an hour session with a budding programmer and I can truly blow some minds and redirect some technical futures. I was a one-on-one tutor for gifted and learning disabled high school children while I worked through grad school. I study a dying martial art and I love to teach it. I'm a budding forager/herbalist and love to take people on edible wilds/herb walks.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Greece, Jamaica, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, Russian Federation, Singapore, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland, Thailand

Countries I’ve Lived In

Germany, Indonesia, United States
