My name is Thomas. Me, my wife (Yana), and our cat and dog live in downtown Salt Lake City. In our spare time, we like to brew beer, roast coffee, camp, hike, and climb.

We haven't been able to travel internationally too much in recent years, but we love to get out to locally to National Parks, go canyoneering, and backpack whenever possible.

Beyond beer, I love tea & coffee, dark chocolate, and good home cooking.

I've couchsurfed a few times, and am finally at a phase in life where I can host other travelers.

Interests

Climbing, backpacking, sailing, bookbinding, literature, music, culture, vegetarian cooking, beer brewing, etc.

Most of my free time is spent rock climbing, hiking, camping, or just being outside. I love nature. Lately it's been more hiking and mountaineering than anything else, but I really just like getting outdoors.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Spent the day under the Lhotse Face in Solokhumbu, Nepal, at an elevation of nearly 20k feet.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach people how to make books and to cook delicious vegetarian food.

I can teach people how to rock climb, slackline (i'm terribly out of practice right now), explore the mountains, and have a good time doing so.

I can also share freshly roasted coffee.
