Overview
About Me
Hi! :) My name is Mélissa but depending on where I go and who I meet, I am also called Mel or Lissa. I was born and raised in France but I believe that I can be happy in many other places in our beautiful world. I am also a positive, independent and a happy person who makes the most to be a responsible solo traveller (I cherish our Mother Earth).
Here's a (non exhaustive list) of things I absolutely love:
- Watch sunrises (especially by the sea),
- Talk about life,
- Sing,
- Be close to the sea,
- Eat fruits and try food I never tried before,
- Learn about customs and traditions,
- Explore,
- Practice yoga,
- Gardening with my hands,
- Laugh (and make people laugh!),
- Be surrounded by Nature,
- Dive (this is a new passion of mine),
- Write in my personal diary...
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Over time, I've developed a huge passion for travel (as a solo traveller). The main reasons that make me want to jump on a plane are: meet inspiring people (and who knows, make beautiful friendships even lifelong friends through couchsurfing :) ), hear their stories and try amazing local food.
*** IMPORTANT NOTE 1 *** Please note that I am only on couchsurfing to meet people from all over the world and embrace new cultures, NOT for dating.
*** IMPORTANT NOTE 2 *** I ONLY accept to be hosted by women.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Kimié Miner, Ashley Lilinoe, Raisa, Odesza, Anji, Iwan Fals, Hirie, Leilani Wolgramm... and all discoveries from all over the world.
Books: I don't read many (if any) novels but I must say that I loved reading The man who wanted to be happy (Laurent Gounelle). What I actually really like to read are personal development books, travel guides, maps and dictionaries.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Mmm... It's too hard to stick to one...
- I learned by myself to drive a scooter in North Bali and even drove in Denpasar (on a three-way roundabout) and a motorcycle on a beach in northwest Bali.
- I bivouacked on the paradisiacal island of Hvar in Croatia, rocked by the sound of the waves.
- I climbed Mount Agung in Bali thinking I was going to leave my skin there.
- I cancelled a flight ticket at the very last minute (2 hours before my departure) to stay another week in Bali.
- I saw a huge meteorite cross the sky of Lombok, one night when I was riding a scooter home.
- I was the only witness (with my host) of the birth of 60+ baby turtles and released them on the northwest coast of Bali.
- Scuba dived for the first time in Amed, Bali (and went until 12 meters).
