ABOUT ME

ex-scientist.Tried to figure out how the brain works, but gave it up, too big a question, too hard a problem. Then worked on some parts of cancer research. Been wanting to listen to and tell stories all my life, so trying to do that now. Have been doing visual art all along, as and when compelled or moved to, but not an 'artist' in that I am deliberately not engaged in the commercial or professional aspects.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Have hosted many friends/acquaintances/friends-of-friends-of-friends on my couch, have occasionally stayed on their couches during travels. However, none, so far through couchsurfing.org

Music, Movies, and Books

A few favorites in books: Anything from Beckett, almost anything from Sebald. Also Like Coetzee Latest interest: Javier Marías. Random stuff such as Confederacy of Dunces, one my early fav.s
Music: gosh, quite eclectic, really - generally, the older the better, elemental folk music from around the world. But also enjoy Michael Jackson, mary jane girls et cetery! If I *HAVE* to pick: Pansuri, Dhrupad, some Sakuhachi pieces, Can (krautrock)some of Miles.
Movies: a list at random - Man on the Train, Whisky, Triplets of Belleville, The Band's Visit, the Son, aw, just ask me when we meet and I'll go on and on if you like. Love movies! I have made two short videos.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Done: Turn on a dime, give up things dear to me when it was time to them give up, happily.

Seen: The amazing will to survive and carry on, in the face of all odds. (many examples)
