About Me

Hi! I'm Jordan. I'm the General Manager of a beautiful, Michelin-starred neighborhood restaurant in the heart of Mount Pleasant, Vancouver, and the host of a radio show diving into some of the more obscure corners of music history, five years running. I love to travel as often as work will allow - it's been years since I've explored the Couchsurfing community, but it enabled a lot of amazing exploration when I was younger, so I'm back!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've spent years doing the majority of my traveling solo, and while I do enjoy this approach and love my solitude, I've found myself wishing more and more lately that I could be forging deeper connections with locals & other travelers.

Interests

I love exploring restaurants, cafes, and wine bars, as well as music venues and local experimental music scenes. These interests drive most of my travels.

Music, Movies, and Books

Progressive rock & krautrock have my heart, but I'm always exploring new genres and records to inspire the radio show. I read a lot of music history and autobiography as well.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Backcountry camping at White Sands National Monument in New Mexico, awoke in the middle of the night to the moon lighting up the sand like it was midday. Night vision!

Hiking into the dunes at Great Sand Dunes National Park in Colorado during a hailstorm, sticking it out after all of the tourists fled.

Met a shop-owner in Texas whose taxidermied pet bobcat sat on top of his couch looking regal as anything I'd ever seen. The conversations that took place in that shop in the like.. hour we spent in there were just incredible.

Teach, Learn, Share

Happy to talk music & wine, find some jazz, do some cooking, whatever!

Countries I’ve Visited

Denmark, England, Finland, France, Germany, Indonesia, Mexico, Netherlands, Scotland, South Korea, United States
