About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To start trying more things-currently working on whitewater kayaking and rock climbing

ABOUT ME

I am 26 and eager to travel and meet new people. I left my corporate job to travel and explore what I want to be when I grow up. I have a strange love for elephants that only grew stronger in Southeast Asia. Thai food is my favorite. I was terrified of water, so I took a part time job as a whitewater raft guide and then started whitewater kayaking. I am a yoga teacher and home brewer :) I love the outdoors - hiking, mountain biking, running, whitewater kayaking, dabbling in rock climbing and snowboarding (when I get back to more conducive climate).

PHILOSOPHY

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than the ones you did do. So cast of the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Dream. Explore. Discover.
-Mark Twain

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm just starting out. I hope to be able to host soon and get involved with other surfers in my city.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None yet. I want to start staying with locals as I travel to get the local view of a place I am not familiar with. I may be able to host on occasion. I would love to meet up for coffee or dinner though.

Interests

Asia, elephants, cooking, craft beers, yoga, travel, mountain biking/whitewater kayaking/camping/rock climbing/...

Music, Movies & Books

Music-John Butler Trio, Joshua Radin, Xavier Rudd, Death Cab, John Mayer, classic rock, occasional dubstep

Books-The Alchemist, Confessions of an Economic Hit Man, A Prayer for Owen Meany

One Amazing Thing I've Done

Xi'ahe, China. A beautiful buddhist monastery in the mountains. Pure mountain air after coming from Beijing. Crisp mountain air. Walks with the locals.

Angkor Wat, Cambodia - I planned a whole trip to Southeast Asia around visiting Angkor Wat. Angkor Wat at sunrise was one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen.

Thailand - AMAZING!

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm a yoga teacher. I'm also a decent cook/baker and I could teach you how to roll a kayak.
