About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Trying to understand myself and the world I'm living in by making films, art and traveling..

ABOUT ME

I was born in a small industrial town near Lyon that I left when I was 16 to go to a boarding school. There I had a great time with some colorful people with whom I went to the South of France to continue my studies. After 4 years studying Ecology, I took one year off to think about my real desires (while working as a journalist in a local newspaper) and ended up in a fine art school. I mostly made videos and art installations and after my diploma I moved to Prague where I lived for 6 years making art exhibitions and working as a video maker. After a 3 months trip in the U.S.A. I spent a lot of time in Rio de Janeiro working on documentary films, the latest one that I co-directed with a good friend of mine is now out in festivals in Brazil. And I now live in Glasgow, Scotland…

PHILOSOPHY

"The awful thing about life is this: everynoe has their reasons!"

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My flat mates and I welcomed a lot of Couchsurfers in our big flat in Prague and I later used it a lot myself on a road trip in the America.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

It basically just saved my life while on the road. Finding a warm place to stay with friendly people in a random town when you've been by yourself for a few days is gold. Some of those people are now friends and I meet them from time to time.

Interests

Obviously cinema. From every angles. But also politics and art, social rights, music… Everything that helps you understand what's around you and who can be the "other". Yep.

Music, Movies, and Books

Most of the New Hollywood period (American cinema from the 70's), some of the French new wave, but also Science-fiction movies, films noirs or even spaghetti westerns, ...
Mostly Indie Rock, Soul and Film Scores and more, I'm quite open on this…

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Waiting for the fog to disappear on the top of a giant rock in Côte d'Ivoire, to then discover the rain forest, so contrasted under the heavy light that it looked like black & white, with the deep greens of the trees and the bright white of the waterfalls...

Going to the Corcovado statue (in Rio de Janeiro) by foot with my flip-flops was a really silly idea, this sculpture keeps getting smaller while you are walking toward it. I have never felt so thirsty in my life!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach French. Oui oui. I also love to talk about movies and cinema history because sharing view points on movies can tell you a lot about people and how they see the world. Oui.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A lot…
