ABOUT ME

I grew up in the state of New York, and since my first year of college I haven't stopped moving. It was scary at first, but now I relish stepping outside of my comfort zone and trying new things!

PHILOSOPHY

I live my life to be happy, and I feel that the best way to remain happy as possible is to be flexible and expressive.

Interests

I currently enjoy singing, piano, theater, dance (tango and swing), ultimate frisbee, baking cookies, and reading, however my interests are constantly expanding due to a variety of new things I like to try. My undergraduate major is currently Psychology.

Music, Movies, and Books

I usually read English romantic period literature, science fiction, fantasy, and occasionally ancient poetry (Catullus). I love old movies with the greats (Katharine Hepburn, Audrey Hepburn, Carey Grant, Humphrey Bogart, Jimmy Stewart, Marilyn Monroe) as well as adventure, action, comedy and science fiction. As for music, I enjoy mostly jazz, classic rock, some alternative and ska.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once got stuck in a rest stop in New Jersey for four hours on a bus trip from New York City to Washington D.C. At first, I thought it was some terrible, terrible bad luck and it was going to be a miserable experience. Instead, I met a high school boy with an open mind and a talent for dancing. He learned how to swing dance in less than an hour, and we entertained the stranded travelers for the entire time we were stuck!

Some things I love to teach: crocheting, tango, swing dancing, and astronomy.
