About Me

I'm a rookie traveler with a love for pivo and breakfast food. I haven't traveled much around the world, but that's the beauty of it: there's still so much to discover!

As of October 2022, I'm back in my country, but am hoping to return to Europe next year!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

There's this Chinese word 泡 pào, and one of its meanings is "steep/soak". I once heard someone use this word to say "to soak in an environment", and I think that's why I'm here. Wherever I may go, I'd want to fall into the rhythm of the locals, to experience their everyday lives and to soak up their culture and its wonders.

A simple metaphor: I'm a pickled pepper, and I go visit a pickled onion jar. Yeah, I could admire their pretty pink color from the outside, but why not jump straight into the brine and experience the flavor? Feel that briny goodness, soak up the herby tangy flavor, and understand what makes the pickled onions in that jar, well, pickled onions.

Does that make sense?

Music, Movies, and Books

Almost anything! It really depends on where I am and who I'm with.

Music: alt rnb, classic rock, jazz/blues, indie pop
Movies: historical/high fantasy, dark comedies, psych thrillers, goofy comedies
Books: novels with rich narratives, psych thrillers, sci-fi, historical fiction

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hmm, perhaps it's surviving a 16+hr train ride from Beijing to Shanghai without a seat! (I remember sleeping standing up and sitting on newspapers across the train car aisle, good times!)

Teach, Learn, Share

I spent my uni days in Guangzhou (South China), so if you're interested in Mandarin or plan to travel to China in general, I hope I can help you out with travel tips. Oh, also with the Philippines!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I don't mind helping around the place etc., and I can cook some authentic Filipino dishes! And dumplings! And I can try my hand in cooking the local fare as well :)

Countries I’ve Visited

China, Hong Kong, Macao, Norway

Countries I’ve Lived In
