ABOUT ME

I was born and raised in Austria until about the age of fourteen. My mom got remarried to an American at that time and so all of us moved to the US. Initially I lived in Kentucky for a year, but the rest of the time we lived in Arizona. Even though by now I have lived in the US longer than in Austria I still have a rather strong accent.
While in Arizona I went to Medical School and then completed a residency in Family Medicine. I currently am working as a temp-physician, so to speak. This allows me to be more flexible with my schedule which is important to me, as most of my family still lives in Austria and we are rather close. Also it has given me the opportunity to work in Maui - who would not like that!
My current position has led me back to Phoenix were I will be until at least the end of June 2010.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

At this time I am renting a room myself and thus cannot host anyone but I am definitely available to show couch surfers around or meet them out and about. I also want to become more active in the local couch surfing group as I know that there are a lot of amazing people to be met right here in town.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have only been to a couple of meetings but I have just felt so incredibly welcome right from the start that I definitely will keep coming back.

Interests

I have a wide variety of interests and am usually up for basically anything. Some of my more nerdy interests include a membership in a book club and another in a group going to different lectures. I also love trying out new foods and restaurants. Of course I like to travel, but unfortunately time is a bit of an issue right now. I love to hike once it gets a bit cooler. I can find just as much enjoyment from going to the theater as going to some sporting event.
