I'm writing my thesis on a movement of landless people in Kerala (India)-- did a year of fieldwork there. And I'm interested in political activism in general, all over the world.

I like company --and I like to not be just a tourist when I travel.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've hosted people in Budapest and been hosted in Atlanta, Oxford, Bonn and Berlin....met some great people on the way.

Interests

Movies...like Gegen die Wand, Amorres Perros, Butch Casidy and the Sundance Kid, Brokeback Mountain, Code Inconnu, Down by Law, Los Lunes al Sol...
Also love biking--esp. in mountains (I'm no good at it but I love it).
Also like discovering more and more a people's history of the world--esp. where it concerns resistance, insurgency and the like :-)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Almost got killed by a guy in Athens who pretended to be a police officer.

Almost got killed canoeing on a bit too wild river in Sweden.

Almost got killed sliding off a mud-road sitting in the back of a pick-up truck in Lesoto.

Almost got killed getting lost while hiking in a vast desert in Chile.

Stopped going on such holidays with my friend Linda ...my life's been all peace and quite since then (um, well...not exactly but...).

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach...well, I guess I know a thing or two about resistance movements, variations on socialism/anarchism etc., present and past, but I'd like to know much more...
