About Me

CURRENT MISSION

be inspired so that i may inspire others.

ABOUT ME

Permaculturalist. Post-vegetarian. In the interests of diversity, I try and surround myself with as many species as possible. While I have an appreciation for so-called "refined" culture, I'd rather learn how to do it myself... it's my belief that community-sufficiency is the only ethical and sustainable way to be.

I tend to find myself constantly on the edge between two different cultures/worldviews - they say in ecology that edges are where all the action's at.

I like learning, singing, exploring, sharing, and creating.

PHILOSOPHY

I revel in the never-ending paradox, the unanswerable zen koan of trying to be a sane person in insane times. I try and make everything full of meaning - while at the same time acknowledging that meaning is all in our heads.

I believe that life is all about balance: between thinking and doing, between learning from the past and living in the now, between people and the earth, and so on.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Though I'm new to the site, I'm well acquainted with the couchsurfer's life on both sides of the equation. Community and hospitality are key parts of the future I'm always actualizing.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

On the way back from Burning Man this year, my friend and I ditched our previous ride (a broken-down veggie oil bus) and hitched to Berkeley with a couple of fellow burners. From the minute we crammed into the back seat, we knew we made the right call... the four of us ended up on an impromptu 4-hour hike at a mountain rest stop, and we subsequently stayed at their place in Berkeley for the next few days, enjoying beautiful walks, fine local food, and good music.

Interests

Downward dog. Fermentation. Finding out what grows where you live. Shamanism (wanna find your power animal?). Dancing. Spontaneity. Absurdity. Drumming.
