ABOUT ME

I am currently sitting in a coffee shop above Pike St. in Seattle. My legs and shoulders ache from the last fifty miles of backpacking but I feel incredibly alive and invigorated in the midst of five weeks on the road backpacking and exploring. I will write more about myself when I have time to sit again.
I was homeschooled my whole life and traveled with my family throughout Latin America as a vital part of my experiential education. I recently graduated from UNC-CH in Drama and Biology and am taking a year off before med school to travel a bit.
I recently spent 6 months in India, Nepal, and China on scholarship interning with doctors in traditional medicine. I firmly believe that this is a vital complement to my education as an M.D.
I love to be silly, meet new people, and aid in the solution of difficult problems. I will write more soon!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I just started couch surfing this past summer and had some great experiences in Canada. My parents used to do Servass in the 80's by mail and phone, so I guess sharing my home and feeling welcome in the homes of others is something I grew up with.

Interests

Laughter, loving people, wilderness, silliness. I am an avid kayaker, biker, and racquetball player. I love to paint when I actually make the time for it. Hmm.. I'm interested in almost anything.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love to read and it's difficult to create a list. Two books that I read this past month that I really enjoyed are:
Twelve by Twelve - William Powers
My Own Country - Abraham Vergehese

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was 7 standing on Machu Pichu and looking down at the brown Urubamba - gave me chills and I felt so happy to be alive that I still remember it clearly. Traveling by myself through India and feeling the power of contagious positive energy.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belize, Canada, Chile, China, Costa Rica, Democratic Republic of Congo, El Salvador, England, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, India, Italy, Mexico, Nepal, Nicaragua, Norway, Panama, Peru, Sweden, Wales, Zambia
