Hey fellow Surfer! We are a couple from Calgary Alberta, Canada! Will is a software engineer (or was, as he had to quit his job in order to pursue our adventures - described in "Why I'm on Couchsurfing"), and Renae just graduated University.

We have decided to work during our travels by creating a YouTube channel! This channel will include information about our adventures while also including our tips and tricks for self improvement and how to make important life gains leading to a more fulfilling life. While self improvement is integral to our lives it doesn't really inform you on who we are. So here is a little more information... fitness is a large part of our lifestyle, we make time almost everyday to do some kind of activity. Going hand-in-hand with our passion for fitness is our love for food (especially some good protein aka. meat) ;) Family is also very important to us. Most of our immediate family also lives in Calgary, so it was very easy for us to see each other.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Last May, we decided to travel the world in an effort to promote our self growth and also discover our calling. Leading up to our decision to travel was our growing unhappiness with our lives; you know, working 9-5 and then being too tired to pursue our most fruitful hobbies with our full selves once we got home. So, we decided to take a risk and travel the world. We don't know exactly where we will be visiting, or how long we will be gone from home, but we are very excited and grateful to have this opportunity at such a young age.

Now, this by no means is just a vacation. We plan to learn as much as possible on this adventure. Learn about ourselves, about you, and your culture. Of course, we also would love to share with you who we are, what it is like living in Canada and what we have experienced so far along our travels. We really love diving deep into conversation, and because you undoubtedly have experiences very different from ours, we are very intrigued as to what you have to say! If we are lucky enough to stay with you and you want to have one of these conversations, be prepared for many hypothetical questions ;)

Music, Movies, and Books

Will produces his own music that encompasses many different genres, including but not limited to: orchestral, electronic, trance and even a little bit of metal! Our music tastes are not limited to one type, but Hans Zimmer, BT, and Above and Beyond are all artists that we enjoy!

Like music our taste in movies is varied, as long as it's good we like it ;) In Calgary we watched a lot of Netflix and YouTube. We would even argue that many TV series are now better than the cinema! Some of our favourite entertainment of late include: Stranger Things (Netflix), Family Guy, Daredevil (Netflix), The Office (USA), Deadpool and Mad Max... the list goes on!

We have not spent much time reading lately (unless you count online research). However, we both love reading, and actually want to get back into reading during these travels, so we would appreciate any suggestions from you :)
