Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I joined the Couchsurfing community in March 2019 when I backpacked around the UK for five months. I met some lovely people through this network and was received with love and kindness.

It's now 2025 and I am a young father to two beautiful children, living in Lancashire.
I am hitting the road once again (proposed and encouraged by my family) for a short time with the intention to 'find myself' and get some fresh perspective.

Music, Movies, and Books

I've been independently studying pre-Christian Northern-European history for a number of years and my interest has grown wildly from Celtic and Scandinavian societies to the early Anglo-Saxon migrations; from early medieval art to Icelandic literature. This personal work is what inspires my creative writing and most other aspects of my life. I breathe this stuff.

I love a good film or mini series.

My favourite author at the moment is Naomi Mitchison and her book The Spring Queen and the Corn King.

I've spent my adult life studying Celtic and Dark Ages Britain and North Western Europe. I also like reading historical fiction.
