I'm an American from Kansas City, Missouri, abroad for the first time working at a school in Korea's scenic Jeju-do. I'm not exactly a teacher, but I advise kids living in the dorms and make sure they have fun activities to do when they stay on campus. Before this job I've worked at radio stations, wine and cheese shops, barbeque restaurants, and summer camps.

For the most part I've gotten used to being a stranger in a strange place, and have actually grown fond of wandering around not knowing how to read and communicating through hand gestures.

I promised myself to see the world and am doing exactly that.

I noticed when you stay in hotels while traveling abroad, you really separate yourself from the culture and spirit of wherever you're staying. I had some great experiences with homestay and hostels in far away places so I figured I would give couchsurfing a shot!
